Thank You, Sling TV streaming service! Sling TV pretty much started and legitimized the TV streaming service industry a few years back. Sling TV is an internet product of DISH TV, a satellite TV service.

The Sling TV interface is a bit cluttered compared to some newer sites today. Sling TV offers two major plans starting at $25 US each per month. The Sling DVR feature costs extra.

Sling resisted adding local TV channels until 2019, because of the cost. But competitors were advertising local live channels, so Sling gave in. Plan prices went up five US dollars a month, from $20 to $25 to help cover costs. Still, Sling offers one of the least expensive cable-replacement services on the market. If you're looking for cable TV channels to supplement your local TV antenna, Sling TV is a good place to start your search. In my opinion, this is a nice service for customers that have an antenna in the attic or on the roof for their local TV viewing.

Sling TV offers two main plans. Users can combine and add various options and features; However, each addition increases your monthly fee.

The two main Sling TV network video plans are named ORANGE and BLUE. Each plan is $25 as a single plan, or the user can purchase both for a single fee of $40 US per month - a $10 per month discount.

ORANGE includes over thirty channels. Including AMC, CNN, BBC America, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Disney, ESPN, Food Network, HGTV, IFC, TBS, and about twenty more channels.

BLUE offers over forty channels. Channels in this plan include  A&E, AMC, USA, NBC, and FOX-owned networks like FOX Sports and FX, as well as Discovery, NBC Sports, NFL Network, Nick Jr, and SYFY, and around thirty more cable network channels. As I recall, Sling was the first streaming service to offer the Hallmark Channels. Hallmark TV produces very popular cable TV channels.

Combining the Orange and Blue packages does not give the viewer seventy-plus channels because several of the same channels appear in both packages. For the $40 fee, the viewer will receive around sixty different popular network channels.

You can expand the Orange and Blue (or combined) packages by adding one or more of the Sling TV Extras bundles and features. If the Sling DVR option is chosen, there is an additional monthly charge.

There are also additional network channel packages that are available, starting at $5 US each per month.

A) The Kids Extra add-on bundles family and children's networks like Disney XD, Nicktoons, and Boomerang and more.

B) The Comedy Extra package includes MTV, TruTV, Logo, and CMT and more.

C) For sports fans, the Sports Extra add-on has ESPN U, NBA TV, NHL Network, and PAC 12 Network.

Additional packages from Sling include: Kids Extra, Lifestyle Extra, Comedy Extra and News Extra. Each of these four packages has a selection of channels focused on the selected package.

You can also add premium networks such as Cinemax, HBO, Showtime, and Starz, though these add-ons higher priced than the regular $5 Extra packages.

Sling TV does not support all local stations in the markets they serve. Check their local TV options for your market before selecting Sling TV -though again - with any of the TV streaming services, the viewer with an outdoor and attic antenna will receive considerably more local stations than an internet service will offer. And with an antenna the viewer will still have local TV stations to watch when the internet is out.
