We do suggest you keep pencil and paper next to the keyboard so you might note which templates are of interest.     We also suggest you do not review more than 100 templates at a time.   Take a break for at least thirty minutes then if you like, review more designs. Review your choices the next day to see if you still like your choices.

Templates 1 through 99 are open page design allowing the user to place any text, link button, graphic, or picture at any location on the page.

Templates 101 through 152 are very clean, looking web pages. Some people prefer a simple design and clean look for their site. Templates 101 through 152 are a simple as can be and still have a theme on the web page.

Themes 1 through 199 can include more customization than templates 201 and up.

Templates 201 through 550 are true templates, where the design and artwork are already pre-placed and the user just adds their text, photos, graphics and navigation link buttons into the areas allocated for those items.

Templates 501 through 525 are templates that use photos instead of artwork in the header. All photos are license and royalty free when used on the 123eHost hosting domains.  All currently displayed artwork in all our templates 1 through 550 is licensed and royalty free used on our 123eHost domain host.

Templates 551 and higher are templates in progress, newly added or miscellaneous templates.

While more restrictive, templates 201 to 525 are the more professional looking sites.   Not all, but some of these designs will allow various color scheme options other than what is shown.

Note as you scroll through templates 299 through 499 you will see some of the templates show up multiple times. Each time there will be a change in either color, photos, or artwork. Templates 299 through 525 are only available in the colors shown, but some photos can be replaced.

While we offer other templates, we suggest using a template numbered 1 through 99 if you want complete control over all artwork and photos, and if you will be making web site changes on a weekly or monthly basis.

Use a template numbered 201 through 525 for a professional looking pre-designed template.   You will be able to add your own text and photos, but the color and artwork frame is set.

All of the templates have some sample text to show how the web page will display.   All of the text can be replaced with text you provide.

Most of the templates 101 and higher include sample pictures which may also be replaced.   If you see a web page you like but it has car photos on the page, we usually can remove the car photos and replace with photos of your choice;  However, depending upon the structure, your photos might have to go into the same photo locations where the car photos were previously located.

These sample templates are available free on our web host locations.   Other templates are available for purchase throughout every corner of the internet.

All general templates are for non-exclusive use.  This means other web site owners might also use the same template as the one you choose.

Exclusive web site designs are available, for a fee by numerous web design companies.   Use your search engine and look for web site design for a few thousand companies near you.

If your site is going to have weekly or monthly updates, we do expect you to take control of your site within several months, but we will not drop you off the cliff.   The site will be up and running and we will make some suggestions on web page editors that you might later use to edit your web page, depending upon your experience with computers in general, and web sites in particular.   Depending upon your experience it might be a true web HTML (the language used to write web pages) editor, or something simple like Microsoft Word.

When you choose a web host, the site cost will also include a number of Email addresses with your web site name.     If your web site name is   www . Looking Backwards . com, and your name is Anna Gramme, your E-mail could be AnnaGramme@LookingBackwards.com .

There are two separate stages to acquiring a web site.

First the domain name. This is the name people will use to locate your site. Like RitasWeb.com or WallyWeb.com, etc. This will cost something like US$7 to US$14 a year for a non-demand name. Some words, like Chocolate.com, or Help.com, if available, would cost considerably more than a  generic title or phrase.

Please note that it is now reported that every English word in the dictionary and encyclopedia has been used as a web name. This means new site names will be a combination of words, or words you make up, but sound real. Until the internet, whoever heard the words Google, Bebo, Groupon, etc.

Second, once a domain name (your web title) is purchased, now a web host needs to be found so you can actually buy space on a computer server of a company that will host your web pages for internet travelers to locate and view.

Web site host fees can easily be found for amounts between  US$50  to  US$100  per year.   Financial features such as credit/debit card sales through the web site are extra.   When reviewing yearly fees, compare all the features included for the fee, and which features you might want to use that are extra.   A US$100 a year site may be cheaper than the US$50 a year site, if the US$100 a year site fee includes all the features you need, but not so the US$50 host.

On the internet, all domain names and web host fees are for one year unless otherwise noted. DO NOT miss your payment date, because the day after, you may not own the site you worked so hard on. It would be better to pay about two months in advance of the payment date just in case of any payment or accounting errors occur.   Two months would usually offer enough time to work out any issues, or to move the site to a new web host.

But Tom, look at all the free domain names and web sites.   Why do I have to pay money for a site?    As in most all advertising, what the big type giveth, the little type taketh away.    Often, the free site company retains control and ownership of your domain name and site.   And mostly likely, limitations as to how much traffic the host allows before extra charges, etc.    Some companies only allow small web sites of just a couple of pages.  And since they often retain control of your domain name, good luck trying to move your site somewhere else in the future.

Your site will probably end up on their slowest computer taking longer for your pages to load when searchers visit.   A high percentage of visitors will leave your site if it takes longer than ten seconds to load the first page.

In today's world additional marketing can be found using Facebook and Twitter. You may wish to link your social site pages to your web site for additional free advertising.

Having a web site can be fun.     Enjoy.       Tom
